MAJE - Mobile Art Jazz Experience

MAJE is a revolutionary concept of Mobile Art exhibition where the photos will come alive enhanced by the original musical score composed specifically for the event, the thirteen 511-inches screens and from the 32 laser projectors installed in the Santo Stefano al Ponte church.

A VISUAL-MUSIC OPERA.

The MAJE Visual Music Experience composed and played live by the musician Marco Testoni  (Pollock Project) and directed by Andrea Bigiarini it’s a Mobile Arts Opera and will be divided into four acts that each describes and highlights four of the most significant emotional states of the human being: 1. Thoughtful. 2. Action. 3. Drama. 4. The funny, the grotesque.

THE EXHIBITION

The exhibition will be held inside the ancient medieval cloister of the Church of Santo Stefano al Ponte - Florence - Italy from APRIL 5th to APRIL 19th 2018 (3000 AVG Visitors each week) along with rare portraits and caricatures of the French painter Claude Monet.

MEET THE JURY

Cadu Lemos

Cadu Lemos is a visual artist and photographer, dedicated to hotography with mobile devices.

He founded mObgraphia Cultura Visual, a production company of mobile photography and video events (called ‘mobgrafias’ in Brazil) in 2013, and in the following year, the first edition of mObgraphia Festival, largest mobile photography event in Latin America. The photographer has published two books, one dedicated to Paris and the other to mobile photography. He also uses photography as a means of integration in his work as a coach and consultant for organizational culture and high performance teams.

Manuela Matos Monteiro

Manuela Matos Monteiro studied Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Porto, was a teacher of secondary education, a teacher trainer and has performed several functions for the Ministry of Education.

She is the author of several books on Psychology, Psychosociology and Pedagogy published by Porta Editora. She coordinated NETPROF - Clube dos Professores Portugueses on the Internet and directed 2:PONTOS magazine.


In addition to participating in congresses and conferences with communications, she is the author of several articles and essays in several publications. Since the 70's he has developed photographic work and has participated in collective and individual exhibitions.
She has won several prizes in contests and has already exhibited in Portugal, Brussels (European Parliament), Mozambique (Maputo and Beira), France (Paris and Bordeaux), Florence, Berlin (two photography biennials 2013 and 2016), Miami, Kansas City among others . She has been member of several contest’s jury She directs since 2013, with João Lafuente, the galleries Espaço MIRA, MIRA FORUM and since April 2017 the gallery MIRA | performative arts.
 

Joanne Carter

Joanne Carter is an accomplished photographic journalist and the Founder and Editorial Director of TheAppWhisperer.com, a platform dedicated to mobile photography and art.

In her editorial capacity, she also contributes to the BBC, Vogue, LensCulture, dpreview, NikonPro magazine, The Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian and more. As a professional photographer and member of British Industry of Professional Photographers (BIPP), her work has been exhibited in various venues throughout the world. Constantly reinventing her approach to creative approach ensures she is often asked to Jury international photographic competitions.

Linda Hollier

Linda Hollier is a keen observer of life and culture, a lover of travel and an avid reader and writer. Born in South Africa she is currently living in Abu Dhabi, UAE, after spending four years in Dubai and an extended time in Germany. 

Linda Hollier is an explorer. It is this that fuels her creative process. She travels continuously, whether in cyberspace or around the globe. She is open, curious and listens deeply. Linda's work asks for a focused concentration on her surroundings. This has allowed her to practice 'listening' on a deeper level. As a photographer her eyes are the primary source of perception and through them she ‘listens' to the vibrations and frequencies of color, form, movement, and energy. 

She continuously pushes the parameters of time and space, a consequence being that there have been incredible opportunities to see her work in the most interesting places: Museu da Imagem e do Som, in Sao Paolo, Brazil, Mira Forum Gallery in Porto, Portugal, EuroAirport in Basel, Switzerland, World Art Dubai Fair in UAE and the Auditorium of Santo Stefano al Ponte in Florence, Italy.

Lee Atwell

Lee Atwell has been passionate about the art, science and magic of photography from the time she was a child.

For the last several years, she been captivated by the versatility, convenience, and creative potential of iPhoneography.
She is currently a co-editor for ‘StreetWise’ - a column dedicated to mobile street photography.

She has received several international photography awards and has had photographs featured in photography publications, and web-magazines. She’s also had her photos exhibited in several cities within the USA, Canada, France, Italy, Belgium, Hungary & Portugal.

Nettie Edwards

UK Artist, educator, writer. Recognised as an early innovator in the Mobile Arts and photography movement, Edwards’s work has been extensively exhibited and published internationally.

Her current creative practice combines Mobile art/photography/video with alternative/historical/analogue photographic processes.

Recipient of many awards including Mobile Photographer of the year ax3 American Aperture awards 2013; winner of ax3 2013 Mobile Landscape and Mobile Video categories; winner Fine Art Category 4th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards. In 2001, her photographic research and documentation with English Gypsy and Traveller families was awarded a prestigious Wingate Scholarship. Masterclasses and workshops include London’s Natural History Museum (for BBC Wildlife Photographer of The Year competition) and Trinity College, Oxford University.
 

Sukru Mehmet Omur

Sukru Mehmet Omur is a ENT  (Ear, Nose, Throat) surgeon, who is now working as a full time mobile photographer and an artist.

On top of these areas he is also a writer focusing on photography and wine. 


He is originally from Turkey and currently living in Paris. He graduated from CE3P images school in Paris and till today, his works as an artist had been exhibited in Paris, Indianapolis, Florence and Istanbul.  Mehmet is managing 4 mobile artistry, 4 photography groups and 2 photography pages in Facebook and his book on “iPhone photography" will be published soon globally.
